Nokia 6500

Nokia 6500 Review, Stylish Mid-range Phone

Just after the born of Nokia 6500 classic, the slide design version of 6500 shakes us immediately. And from my analyzing, Nokia 6500 is the second of on the top buy list of Nokia. Let’s see the 3G phone with normal size and normal features.
Why say normal size? It is because Nokia 6500 slide is designed in 96.5mm height, 46.5 across and 16.4mm thick. Not in the theme of slim, thin. In addition, the phone is designed with 2,2 inch 16 millions color screen. It is really a normal size in normal design. By the way, it weights 123g, also on the normal heavy.
Why normal features? Firstly, the 3G phone comes with 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, double LED flash, digital zoom and Carl Zeiss lens. The camera is different with the 2.0 megapixel of 6500 classic, but not outstanding if compared with other sliders at the same range. If there is a little bright, it’s the double LED flash.
Internal media player is easy to access and support music formats of MP3, WMA, ACC and etc. Though it is a 3G phone, but it only supports video calls. So the named 3G has nothing to do with the speed of data transfer. But, the capable for music downloading from internet and waps is in sure, by GPRS or EDGE tech.. With other connectivity of Bluetooth, and USB 2.0, data exchange with PCs and other devices are available. The internal memory of 6500 is 20 Mbytes and extended option is up to 4Gbytes. See, normal, not as big as 8GB or 16GB, not as small as 2 GB or 1 GB.
The phone is operated in series 40 Symbian. This brings the lack of softwares. It’s kind of problem. But just as I said, normal features.
If there’s something allows the phone to stand out among other similar spec 3G phone, that is the appearance. There are 2 choices for N6500 Slide, silver and black. And the bake of the phone is designed with metal sense. This fashion design makes the phone look stylish, not cheap or plastic. Also, the smooth slide gives a plus.
Well, as a phone come from 2007, N6500 slide is still brilliant. But to this 2008 which is burning of new 3G phones, Nokia 6500 slide dims. If consider of the price and for normal use, N6500 Slide is not a bad choice. Normal size, normal feature and stylish looking, isn’t it enough for a mid-range phone?
